Private Komodo Boat Charter Booking, Labuan Bajo

**A private Komodo boat charter means you book the whole boat for your group alone — no strangers, no fixed timetable. From Labuan Bajo you choose the departure date, the number of days, and the stops, then confirm with the Komodo Luxury reservations team. Full-boat buyouts start near IDR 10,000,000 per day as of 2026 and scale with boat size.**

This page is the booking desk for that buyout. If you want the line-by-line rate cards, our [private charter price page](/private-boat-charter-price/) carries the full per-boat tables. Here the job is simpler: match a boat to your group and get your enquiry in front of the reservations team fast.

Driftwater Voyages is operated by Komodo Luxury, an award-winning Labuan Bajo operator founded in 2015, and bookings are handled directly by its reservations team.

Why charter the whole boat instead of joining an open trip?

A shared open trip puts you on a fixed route with other travellers at a lower per-head price. A private charter flips that. The boat, the crew, and the schedule are yours. You decide when to wake for the Padar sunrise hike, how long to linger at Pink Beach, and whether to squeeze in Manta Point before lunch.

For families with young kids or older parents, honeymooners, corporate teams, and photographers chasing light, that control is usually worth the buyout. We sell shared and private side by side — if a private charter overshoots your budget, the reservations team will say so and point you to a shared departure instead.

What does the private charter booking matrix look like?

The table below matches boat class to group size, typical duration, and the entry daily rate. Treat every figure above the IDR 10,000,000/day floor as indicative — each boat is quoted individually and confirmed in writing before you pay a rupiah. Rates are as of 2026 and subject to change.

Boat class Typical capacity Best for From (per day, 2026) Common durations
Standard phinisi / motor boat 2-4 cabins, up to ~10 guests Friends, small families IDR 10,000,000 2D1N, 3D2N
Deluxe phinisi 4-5 cabins, up to ~12 guests Families, mixed groups Indicative from ~IDR 18,000,000 3D2N, 4D3N
Luxury phinisi / superyacht 5-7+ cabins, 12-16+ guests Celebrations, corporate, honeymoons On quotation, scales up 3D2N-5D4N

Longer 4D3N-5D4N charters can extend west toward Lombok via Saleh Bay, where whale sharks gather seasonally. The daily rate stays the anchor; more days and a bigger boat simply raise the total.

How does private charter booking work?

The reservations flow is short and paper-trailed. Every step below routes to the Komodo Luxury team.

  1. Send your brief. Group size, travel dates, preferred duration, and any must-see stops — one WhatsApp message to 628113823875 is enough to start.
  2. Get matched. The team proposes one to three boats that fit your group and budget, with real boat photos and safety-equipment confirmation.
  3. Shape the itinerary. You approve a day-by-day route; edits are free at this stage.
  4. Confirm on a written invoice. You receive registered business details and a deposit request. Never pay against a quote with no invoice, and be wary of prices that look too cheap — local reports note some Labuan Bajo boats are not safe.
  5. Pre-register every passenger. At least one day before departure, send each guest’s passport copy showing the photo, plus full name, nationality, and passport number, to the boat host. As of 2026, passport numbers alone are no longer accepted, and entry can be denied without this.
  6. Sail. Pay the balance and settle park fees per your agreement. The crew usually collects the Komodo Park fee in advance, and guests commonly reimburse in IDR cash on arrival.

What goes in your custom itinerary request?

Think of your enquiry as a short form. The more of this the reservations team has up front, the faster and tighter your quote:

  • Dates and duration — fixed or flexible, and how many nights aboard.
  • Group size and mix — adults, kids, anyone with mobility needs.
  • Boat class — standard, deluxe, or luxury from the matrix above.
  • Priority stops — Padar, Komodo or Rinca dragon treks, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Taka Makassar sandbar, Kalong Island flying foxes, or a Lombok crossing.
  • Extras — private guide, diving, drone use (official permission required), dietary needs, celebration setups.

What isn’t included in the charter rate?

Park fees sit outside your boat fare and are usually not included. These are commonly weekday rates as of 2026; weekends may carry a surcharge.

Fee Approx. cost (2026, weekday) Notes
Park entrance ~IDR 150,000 Per person; required before entry
Trekking ~IDR 115,000 Ranger-led treks only
Snorkeling ~IDR 15,000 Designated areas due to strong currents
Ranger fee ~IDR 80,000-100,000 Per group
Drone permit Reported ~IDR 2,000,000 Official permission required

A note on the headlines you may have seen: a proposed international-visitor conservation fee of IDR 3,750,000 was not implemented, and earlier floated figures of IDR 2,900,000-5,800,000 were past proposals, not current fees. Present fees are lower than those numbers.

When should you lock your dates?

The dry season, April to November, brings calm seas, sun, and the best visibility — the window most groups want. The rainy season runs December to March with rougher water, and most multi-day boat trips pause from January to March, though one-day speedboats usually keep running.

Book early regardless. Komodo National Park caps visitors at 1,000 per day across the whole park under a February 2026 regulation, covering Padar, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, and every dive and snorkel site, and those spots must be booked and paid in advance. On a private charter with a set date, that cap is a reason to confirm sooner rather than later.
