Who actually operates your boat trip?
Driftwater Voyages is a booking concierge and information publisher, not the owner or captain of any vessel. When you accept a quote, we route your reservation to Komodo Luxury, an award-winning Labuan Bajo boat operator founded in 2015, whose reservations team handles the booking, payment confirmation, boat assignment, crew and on-water operation directly. The transport, accommodation aboard, meals, ranger coordination and safety on your 2D1N, 3D2N, 4D3N or longer Lombok–Flores crossing are delivered by that operator and its vetted partners.
This means the operator’s own booking, boarding and safety conditions apply to your voyage alongside these terms. Where a conflict arises about the trip itself, the operator’s confirmed booking conditions prevail. Driftwater Voyages’ role is to match you to the right duration and cabin class, relay accurate information, and pass your confirmed booking through cleanly.
What is and is not included in a quoted price?
Every quote we relay is per person for shared open trips or a full-boat rate for private buyouts, in Indonesian Rupiah unless stated otherwise. As of 2026, a 3D2N shared trip typically starts around IDR 3,000,000–3,750,000 per person and rises toward about IDR 7,500,000 per person for higher cabin classes and more luxurious boats; private charters start around IDR 10,000,000 per day and scale with boat size and amenities. These figures are indicative and subject to change.
Komodo National Park fees are charged separately by the park authority and are normally not included in your boat fare. Common weekday rates as of 2026 are shown below; weekends may carry a surcharge.

The boat crew typically collects the full Komodo Park fee in advance, and guests often reimburse these fees locally in IDR cash on arrival. A previously proposed international-visitor conservation fee of IDR 3,750,000 was not implemented; earlier figures floated between IDR 2,900,000 and 5,800,000 were proposals only, not current fees. Always confirm the live park-fee total with the operator before departure.
Can prices and availability change after I enquire?
Yes. A quote is an invitation to book, not a guaranteed reservation. Prices, cabin availability, departure dates and routes are confirmed only when the operator issues a written invoice and receives your deposit or payment. Komodo National Park limits visitors to 1,000 per day across the entire park under a February 2026 regulation summary, and spots must be booked and paid in advance — so a date shown as open at enquiry may sell out before you confirm. We do not guarantee availability, a specific boat, a specific cabin, or a specific price until the operator confirms in writing.
What happens if weather or the park disrupts my trip?
The dry season, roughly April to November, brings calm seas and good visibility. During the rainy season, December to March, seas are rougher and most multi-day boat trips pause in January–March, though one-day speedboats typically still operate. For safety, the operator may reschedule, reroute, shorten or cancel a voyage due to weather, sea conditions, mechanical issues, or park closures and quota limits. In these cases the operator’s rebooking and refund policy applies; Driftwater Voyages will relay options promptly but does not set or guarantee weather-related refund amounts.
How do cancellations and refunds work?
Cancellation terms are set by the operator and confirmed on your invoice. The framework below is typical and indicative only — your written invoice is the binding version.

Refunds are processed through the operator’s payment channel and may take time to clear. Third-party charges, bank fees and currency conversion are not refundable by us.
What are you responsible for as a passenger?
You are responsible for meeting the park’s entry rules. As of 2026, all boat passengers must pre-register at least one day before departure by sending the boat host a passport copy showing the photo, plus full name, nationality and passport number — passport details alone are no longer sufficient, and entry can be denied without this. Every visitor must hold a valid entrance ticket. All treks on Komodo and Rinca Islands must be led by a certified ranger; independent walking is not allowed. Life jackets must be worn during speedboat travel and in rough seas, snorkeling and diving are only permitted in designated areas because of strong currents, drones and night treks need official permission, and you must keep a safe distance from Komodo dragons, stay on marked paths, avoid touching coral and carry out all trash. You confirm you are medically fit for boat travel and swimming, and you travel at your own risk within the operator’s safety rules.
How is my liability limited, and yours?
Driftwater Voyages acts as a concierge and information intermediary. To the fullest extent permitted by Indonesian law, we are not liable for injury, illness, loss, delay, damage, missed connections, or additional cost arising from the operation of any vessel, the acts of the operator, crew, rangers or third parties, or from weather, sea conditions, force majeure or park decisions. Our maximum aggregate liability to you is limited to the concierge service fee, if any, that we actually received for your booking. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not a licensed financial, legal, tax or medical adviser, and nothing here is such advice.
How do you protect my personal data?
We handle the personal data you send us — your name, nationality, passport details, contact number and trip preferences — only to arrange your booking with the operator and its vetted licensed partners. We process it in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 of 2022 / UU PDP). For international visitors, including travellers from the EU/UK covered by GDPR, we apply equivalent care: we collect only what a booking requires, share it solely with the operator and payment or park authorities as needed to deliver your trip, and retain it no longer than necessary. You may request access, correction or deletion of your data, subject to legal record-keeping duties, by contacting us at the details below. Passport copies required for park pre-registration are shared with the boat host strictly for that purpose.
